Commitment to Fair Trade by Brazil Products Company.

Below is a partial checklist of the items in Garden Pure's Level 3 Certification.

Does Brazil Products Company do the following?:

 1. Provide pre-harvest credit to growers at low or no interest rates? YES

2. Pay fair prices for all products purchased? YES

3. If you buy from a wholesaler or cooperative, do you insure the growers they buy from are paid a fair price? YES

4. Does your company pay a premium for organically produced products? YES

5. Do you assist in a meaningful way in local community development projects? YES

6. Do you assist in the education of growers in productive farming techniques? YES

7. Do you provide safe farming methods and equipment that do not endanger the short or long term health of the workers? YES

8. Do you prohibit the use of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer chemicals that harm the ecosystem and workers? YES

9. Do you use environmentally sustainable farming techniques to ensure the continued productivity of the land for future generations? YES

10. Do you follow procedures that do not harm and protect local wildlife? YES

11. Are all workers given a safe working environment, provided with adequate gear that protects them from short or long term injury? YES

12. Are workers allowed to freely join any association for their collective and individual benefit? YES

13. Are workers given quality medical care for themselves and families at reasonable cost, as measured by their means? YES

14. Are workers allowed and assisted in education for themselves and their families? YES

15. Prohibit the use of forced child labor? YES

16. Are your suppliers allowed to sell their products anywhere they choose, at a price of their determination? YES

17. Are your workers allowed to voice grievances without penalty or retribution? YES

18. Are the Company’s senior employees, supervisors, and managers of workers trained in the requirements of Fair Trade dealings with all their laborers? YES

19. Has the Company applied for Fair Trade certification, or does it plan to do so within the next year? YES

20. Is the Company committed to the principles of Fair Trade, and willing to pursue active policies to implement both the letter and spirit of this important global goal? YES
